Using the Magellan SporTrack with EasyGPS
This allows GPS files to be handled in a more manageable way using the .GPX format. GPX files are text based and can be read into, for example, a spreadsheet. It allows the user to edit the files, insert comments, edit waypoints, merge routes etc. EasyGPS can also communicate with the GPS and extract files into the .GPX format
Configure the EasyGPS software:
- File>Preferences>My GPS>Add GPS>Magellan>SporTrack
- File>Preferences>My GPS>Settings>Baud 4800
- File>Preferences>Coordinates>Degrees,Minutes.Minutes
- GPS>Test Serial connection.
To establish the first connection you may need to restart GPS and Software.

- Menu>Setup>Baud Rate>4800
- Menu>Setup>NMEA>None
- Menu>Setup>Coord Sys>Primary>Lat/Long>DEG/MIN.MMM
